Ummulkhayr Adamu has over a decade’s experience within the academic community. She began her career in academia at the College of Education Ankpa, and in 2018, obtained her PhD in Islamic Studies from the University Utara Malaysia. She later joined the Prince Abubakar Audu University (then Kogi State University), Anyigba as a lecturer in the Department of Arts Education. At Kogi State University, Ummulkhayr leveraged her experiences and made remarkable contributions to teaching, learning, and research, broadly in areas of Islamic Social Finance and Islamic Studies Education. In 2023, she joined the National Open University of Nigeria as a lecturer I. Since joining the NOUN, she has served as a post-graduate coordinator for Islamic Studies unit, and is presently the Coordinator of the Islamic Studies Unit of the Department of Religious studies. Ummulkhayr has attended various courses both in Nigeria and overseas and has publications in reputable journals locally and internationally. She currently sits as a member in several committees and has also held several administrative positions over the course of her career including being the Head of Department of Islamic Studies at Kogi State College of Education. Ummulkhayr is married with Children.
